it's the last week in our old place. one week from today we climb into the vehicles and are off. but between now and then it gets crazy. today i get to run around and look into getting copies of the kids cum files from their schools (which will, more than likely, fail because schools are "special" and aren't required to give parents, or even let them see, their kids records). once the kiddos come home, we'll be off to get sandles to make the trip more comfortable for everyone. saxy will also be doing the grocery shopping for our last week here - mostly salad and sandwhich stuff.
i spent most of yesterday doing hookups at the new house and have 2 more i need to reach today - water and trash. next week i'll hook up the electricity (which had to wait because they want a $200 deposit first). everybody out there does a credit check and they all use the same credit corp which has old information. for some reason, equifax never changed my last name, which makes me wonder if they still have my ex's name on my credit report as well. something i'll have to deal with at another time, particularly since they charge for the priviledge of seeing your own report.
this weekend will more than likely be fairly quiet, then the real busyness begins. we still have to shave gypsy, make payments on vehicles, finish phone calls for hookups and disconnections, finish the last of the packing, get copies of our driving records, and so on and so forth. the ex has books to deliver to the library and clothes to deliver to the salvation army. the plan on friday is to get the van and the uhaul early in the morning, load up the uhaul, send the kids off with dad for the day while we sleep and then take off in the evening when it's cooler, but a lot of what happens depends on dad. he needs to play with taz and froggy. if he just sits them in front of the tv, we've told them to come back and we'll leave earlier.
oh, yes, we got the 3-bedroom! i've got the address and we have a phone number that will be active when we get there and everything. i'll even have internet already! the house is a 3 bedroom/2 bath, one of which is a private bath for the master bedroom, has a 2 car garage, and wooded, fenced backyard. it's in a subdivision near the gwinnett mall, which will make jewel a happy kid. we're told it's bigger than the previous house, but only costs about $125 more per month and doesn't need any work. the owner is putting in (or has put in) a new stove, hot water heater, dishwasher (a dishwasher! and not a kid powered one!), and refrigerator. i'm very excited! i can't wait! a HOUSE! woo!
well, gotta go! ride's here and time to run around!
