after much thought, some major sections of my site have been closed for good. a few were still waiting to be redesigned and put back online, but one has been a very popular part of my site for a long time. basically, it was just time to let go.

and i probably should let go of more.

thing is, my writing has taken over my time. diiwg keeps me busy. next week i start revising my novel and i have half a dozen shorts in various stages of being written and revised. what little time not spent on my writing is generally spent with family, reading, taking a break. but that time is very limited indeed - my plate is quite full.

and i know that if a section isn't yet online for the site, it probably never will be. i evaluated each one and then dumped them. so, gone is the spirit pages. i enjoyed that time in my life, but i don't have time to put the pages up. the elven dreamers webring will be closed completely. even when the page worked i didn't get a lot of members. i'm still considering whether or not i should close expressions. it has been a pain trying to get people to participate. actually, i am closing expressions. it's just too much work any more. without the collab part of it, it's apointless ring (and i really do have enough rings to manage right now.)

however, the one closure that will upset more than a few people i know is the DominoDesigns linkware section. the last time i updated anything was over 6 months ago. the last time i posted a brand new set was over 2 years ago. these are good clues that i probably will not be making anything new for them any time soon. that and, as noted in a previous entry, i have to make choices on what i will focus on. do miss dd? a little, but only a little. i used to miss it a lot, but writing seems to take care of my creativity needs and then some.

so, the linkware is gone, but i kept the textures, seamless tiles, tubes, and bp presets. the last 2 i will probably never get updated ever again, but designers use them. the textures and tiles are easy to create and a nice break from writing when i need it. and both are immensely popular. so, they will stay, as will the textures ring.

this stuff is really nothing. if i had the entire site that i've had developed over the years up, domynoes.com would probably be twice the size it is now.

and people get lost enough as it is.
